Don't
Be a Wimp
DON'T BE A WIMP
Words & Music by Glenda H. Davis, 2002
Don't be a wimp in the Word;
Be strong in His pow-er;
Don't be a wimp in the Word;
Stand firm like a tow-er;
We may not be much in the sight of man,
But with God on our side, we can say, "I can!"
Don't be a wimp ญญ___ in the Word of God. ___
The dev-il's lie is that
the Bi-ble is full of bor-ing his-to-ry--
He wants us to think it
has no ap-pli-ca-tion for you and me;
'Cause when he sees the
saints of God feast-ing on the Truth,
He knows we're armed for
bat-tle, and it's hard-er to make us goof.
Don't be a wimp in the Word...
Don-nie's stud-y-ing ju-do
and ka-ra-te with all his might;
Ap-par-ent-ly he
thinks to be a real man, he must fight;
But Da-vid and Go-li-ath
proved it does-n't mat-ter at all--
If God's not in the
fight with him, the might-y man will fall.
Don't be a wimp in the Word...
Lit-tle Gran-ny may not
weigh but nine-ty pounds when soak-ing wet,
But in spir-i-tual
war-fare she's the great-est war-rior I've ev-er
met;
'Cause Gran-ny knows the
Word of God and wields it like a sword,
And Gran-ny's not a
cow-ard in the pow-er of the Lord!
Don't be a wimp in the Word;
Be strong in His pow-er;
Don't be a wimp in the Word;
Stand firm like a tow-er;
We may not be much in the sight of man,
But with God on our side, we can say, "I can!"

Isaiah 43:1 But now thus
saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed
thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have
called thee by thy name; thou art mine. 2 When thou
passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the
rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through
the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame
kindle upon thee. 3 For I am the LORD thy God, the
Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy
ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. 4 Since thou wast
precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have
loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for
thy life. 5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring
thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; 6 I will
say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back:
bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the
earth; 7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I
have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I
have made him. 8 Bring forth the blind people that have eyes,
and the deaf that have ears. 9 Let all the nations be gathered
together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can
declare this, and show us former things? let them bring forth
their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear,
and say, It is truth. 10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD,
and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and
believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was
no God formed, neither shall there be after me. 11 I, even
I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
John 10:10 The thief cometh
not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come
that they might have life, and that they might have it
more abundantly. ...14 I am the good shepherd, and know
my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me,
even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the
sheep.
Luke 4:17 And there was
delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he
had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed
me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the
brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and
recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that
are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20
And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister,
and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the
synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto
them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
